Public Member Commissioner – Brian Richardson

Richardson has over twenty years of progressive leadership and management experience within the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of StartOut, a national nonprofit organization where he leads a dynamic platform for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and innovators. Previously, Richardson was Lambda Legal’s Midwest Regional Director. He also served as Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health. Richardson sits on the ACLU of Illinois' Board of Directors and serves on the Executive and Development Committees. Richardson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkley.
