Staff Attorney - John Ioakimidis

John D. Ioakimidis joined the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission as a Staff Attorney in January 2025. Prior to joining TIRC, he spent 30 years in private practice. After obtaining his law license in November 1994, he worked as a general practitioner for several years before concentrating on criminal and bankruptcy cases. Throughout his career, he has advocated for justice and represented his clients in courts across Cook County and northeastern Illinois. John earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University. He is a member of the National Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Association.
